Synthesis of single-molecule electronic elements (conductors, resistors, diodes, transistors).
Synthesis of linear pyridium ring containing electron conductors based on oligomers of p-phenylene-bis-4,4'-(2,6-diphenyl-pyrylium) and p-phenylenediamine.
Oligomers containing 1 to 5 pyrylium units were synthetized.
Future work will deal with synthesis of similar compounds that will contain an anion (counterpart to the pyridium cation) covalently bound to the phenyl group of the starting pyrylium molecule.
